Only four tracks were solo recorded, in 1962, before Robert Marley joined The Wailing Wailers. Only two tracks, Do You Still Love Me? and Judge Not, were released using the name "Robert Marley".

In addition, four tracks were recorded in London for JAD in 1972, produced by Johnny Nash and Danny Simms, with Johnny Nash's Sons of the Jungle as Bob's backing band. Two of these, Reggae on Broadway and Oh Lord, Got to Get There, were released as a single on CBS under Marley's own name.
