I Can’t Explain (mono)

~ Recording by The Who

Annotation

On the liner notes for My Generation (Deluxe edition, 2002), it says that Jimmy Page played guitar only on Bald Headed Woman (i.e., not on I Can’t Explain), but on the later release Maximum A’s & B’s, it says:

“On ‘I Can’t Explain’, vocal trio The Ivy League added backing vocals and session musician Jimmy Page played rhythm beneath Townshend’s insistent, circular guitar riff.”
